The Friends are from a wide range of backgrounds with interests
ranging from archaeology through natural, social & industrial
history to fine art and artefacts.
The Museums & Gallery contain an extensive range of subjects
which allows us to explore our broad range of interests & the
relationships between them.
The money we raise by subscriptions and from the talks, visits and
holidays which we organise goes entirely to support the Museums
& Gallery.
Over the last 48 years the Friends of Lincoln Museums & Gallery
have provided financial support on more than 120 occasions.
Our funds also support the presentation display and publicising of
exhibits and exhibitions for The Collection, The Usher Gallery &
The Museum of Lincolnshire Life for the education and enjoyment
of the public.

In Memory of the Late Hugh Cooke
Hugh Cooke, so sadly taken from us, became Chairman in 2008
which was a difficult time for the Friends. Through his persistence
and courtesy, and sheer determination he steered us through that
time.
Inspired by his background in engineering and his love of the arts
he promoted the cause of our museums and gallery within the
Friends and in negotiation with LCC Heritage Services. He used
his organising skills to take us on many enjoyable and informative
trips and holidays. We always enjoyed his company, valued his
insights and opinion and will miss him greatly.
